Dr. Sabina Francis was born in Castries, St. Lucia. She graduated from the University of California in Los Angeles in 1993 where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics. Dr. Francis then attended The University of Southern California School of Medicine and in 1997, she received her Doctor of Medicine degree.
After medical school, she received the Rupley Award for a research fellowship at the House Ear Institute where she conducted both basic and clinical science research.
Dr. Francis later did her internship in General Surgery at Huntington Memorial Hospital and then completed residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Charles R. Drew University at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in Los Angeles. She served as Chief Resident for the program from 2002-2003.
Because of her love for teaching, upon completion of training, Dr. Francis served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Meharry Medical College and clinical instructor of Otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University. During that time she served as Chief of Otolaryngology at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry in Nashville, TN.
Dr. Francis relocated to North Carolina with her family to join Dr. Eric Mansfield in practice at Cape Fear Otolaryngology, PA. She is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery and is licensed to practice Medicine in the states of North Carolina, Tennessee, and California.
Dr. Francis lives locally with her husband and two children. |
